Mont Saint-Sauveur International becomes Les Sommets

New identity for a pillar of the ski industry

With an international reputation and all its four seasons activities, the group MSSI decided to re-position its brand, consulting with marketing communications agency Cossette and digital media agency, Sigmund, culminating in the birth of a new identity.

From the installation of the first North American ski lifts to the development of one of the largest ski areas in North America, the history of Mont Saint-Sauveur is filled with family, ambition, innovation and passion. Since its infancy in the 70s, Mont Saint-Sauveur has continued to grow and innovate, becoming one of the most important economic engines in the region. Combining several ski resorts, camping, a tree top adventure, a water park, an amusement park and now mini golf, Mont Saint-Sauveur has become over the years a 'leader' in the recreational tourism industry.

MSSI becomes Les Sommets

Proud of its history and supporting the vision of its founder, the late Jacques G. Hébert, the Quebec company wants to put its greatest strength at the front: to be a group with the largest number of stations in Quebec. Proud of its origins and wishing to turn a new page in its history by keeping the essence and passion of its founders, the group Mont Saint-Sauveur today becomes Les Sommets. The passion from this company brings together 5 ski resorts, puts forward the desire to keep people active and make them move. With its active and varied entertainment (skiing, snow tubing, camping, water park, etc ...), Les Sommets radiates strength and quality of its offer. "I am excited about this development, because it illustrates and confirms the flexibility that we demonstrate by being flexible with changes in society. It highlights successful inter generational transfer, unusual for Quebec businesses today, "said Louis Philippe Hébert, President and CEO of Les Sommets.

"The group's ski resorts have a long tradition and we wanted to magnify that. So we played with graphic references of the Saint-Sauveur logo, which is the engine, and we created a current graphics platform that is inclusive and personalized. The group's logo has also been used to define the graphic recipe of the 5 mountains as well as the entertainment offering, "said Sylvie Bernard, creative project lead at Cossette.

Through this brand identity change, a complete redesign of the websites was carried out in collaboration with Sigmund, including all mountains. Thus, the Sommet Saint-Sauveur, Sommet Morin Heights, Sommet Olympia , Sommet Gabriel and Sommet Edelweiss are grouped under a single domain: www.sommets.com. In addition, the online e-store site has been completely redone, offering a much easier platform to use for lovers of outdoor activities.

"A company must innovate, demonstrate a young and dynamic approach. Working in the field of leisure, our image should reflect the quality of the product and our service. Our new identity reflects a young and innovative organization, "says Louis Dufour, Chairman of the Board and Vice President, Development and Customer Experience of Les Sommets.

A little history

Founded by Jacques G. Hébert in the early 70s, the ski resort then composed of a few trails, received the Mont Saint-Sauveur name to solidify the link between the village and the mountain. With its commitment to the development of the region, Mr. Hébert's vision is to unite the forces of the village into a major tourist attraction in the province, even in North America.

Over the years, Mont Saint-Sauveur takes shape and it was then that Mr. Louis Dufour, a former member of the National Team and skiing enthusiast, joins the group. In 1985, the Water Park Mont Saint-Sauveur was born; a rare and highly prized attraction, increasing and diversifying the number of visitors to the area during the summer season. In 1987, the company added a new ski resort, Mont Avila. Ski Morin Heights followed in 1992, with Mont Olympia and Ski Mont Gabriel in 1995, and later adding Acro-Nature, the tube slides and camping. Supported by its five ski resorts, a water park and its unique activities, the company, Hébert and Dufour families become a major employer for the region and an undeniable economic engine, as Mont Saint-Sauveur International. Today the company is led by two Quebec families turning a page in its history, becoming Les Sommets.

Les Sommets is opening shortly with high emotions. Tests of the snow guns are done, and Les Sommets is put the finishing touches on the coming ski season, ready to turn the page in history. Les Sommets hopes that you will embark to new heights with them.
